OlyLife P90+: Technical Specifications, Certifications and Safety

This page gathers the technical specs, certifications and safety information for the OlyLife THz Tera-P90+ in one place. It goes with our Tera-P90+ product page.

We’ve been careful about where each figure comes from. The main unit’s specifications and all the safety rules come from the official user manual. The handheld devices’ figures come from OlyLife’s product presentation. We’ll update this page as more information arises.

What’s in the box

The user manual lists these items for the main unit:

The cables for the Frost Age and the Revitaluxe plug into the main unit’s expansion port. The Optirelax and Youthful Glow gels are sold separately and are used to increase conductivity.

How it works, in OlyLife’s words

The manual says the P90+ sends energy waves through the foot plates into the body. It describes these as gently warming the tissue from within, spread evenly so there’s no hot spot. OlyLife’s presentation calls this output PEMF at 1 MHz, with terahertz waves of 3 to 3,000 micrometres.

Most PEMF devices pulse at low frequencies, from a few hertz up to a few hundred. A 1 MHz output that warms tissue from within works more like radiofrequency heating. We’re asking OlyLife for independent testing of this output and will add it here when we have it.

One point worth knowing: terahertz waves themselves are absorbed in the top fraction of a millimetre of skin. Any warmth or effect felt deeper in the body comes from the PEMF output, and from blood flow and nerves carrying surface effects further. Our terahertz article explains this in more detail.

For the original Tera-P90, an independent lab measured the terahertz output in 2023. Its strongest band was 30 to 1,000 micrometres. We haven’t seen an equivalent report for the P90+ main unit yet.

A note on the 7.8 Hz figure

The Revitaluxe’s pulsed field runs at 7.8 Hz. That’s very close to the Earth’s natural Schumann resonance of about 7.83 Hz, which we cover in our grounding and earthing article.

Using the main unit

1. Plug in the power cord and turn on the main power switch underneath. The unit beeps and the power light comes on.
2. Press the On/Off button. The screen shows a 20-minute session at intensity 0.
3. Sit down and place your bare feet on the plates, left foot on the left plate and right foot on the right plate, both at the same time. Don’t wear socks.
4. Use the + and – buttons, or the remote, to raise the intensity to a comfortable level. Start low, especially the first time.
5. The unit beeps three times at the end and returns to standby.
6. Stay seated for a few minutes before you stand up and walk.

You can use the main unit on its own or at the same time as a handheld device.

If you take your foot off the device, the remaining minutes will still show in session time but, you will need to restart the strength level.

Session limits

• Up to 20 minutes per session.
• No more than two sessions a day for the same person, at least 4 hours apart.
• No more than 20 minutes at the highest intensity.
• Older users shouldn’t go above level 8.

Certifications and registrations

These are the certificates OlyLife has supplied for the P90+.

• CB test certificate (IEC electrical safety), issued through Intertek
• CE documentation, verified by ECM (Italy)
• FCC Declaration of Conformity, tested by BST Testing (China)
• Chinese Utility Model Patent for a PEMF physiotherapy device. Granted by the China National Intellectual Property Administration on 20 August 2024 for “a physiotherapy device incorporating PEMF”.
• US FDA registration. The P90+ is FDA registered, not FDA approved. Registration lists a device with the FDA. It isn’t an approval of any health claim.

Safety and precautions

The rules below come from the official P90+ user manual. Please read them before your first session.

Who shouldn’t use the P90+

The manual says the P90+ must not be used by:

• pregnant women and infants
• children or anyone under 14
• people with pulmonary (lung) function disorders
• people with impaired consciousness
• anyone with a body temperature above 37°C
• users of life-support devices, such as artificial hearts or lung machines
• people recovering from surgery or with bleeding tendencies (including uterine fibroids or during menstruation)
• people with reduced sensitivity to heat, such as reduced feeling in the lower legs from a disc protrusion
• people with a pacemaker, other implanted electronic devices or metal implants
• people with diabetes or with foot ulcers
• people with severe heart conditions, severe high blood pressure or severe lung conditions

People with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities should only use it with supervision from someone who understands the risks. If you’ve recently had a salon or clinic treatment that left your skin red or swollen, check with a doctor first.

While you use it

• Use bare, dry feet, one on each plate. Don’t let one foot straddle both plates and don’t let your legs touch each other.
• Don’t touch the plates with your hands or elbows while your feet are already on.
• We have seen some people use their hands on the plate, when placed on a table. This is not standard use but they did so because a foot was bandaged or unable to sit flat on the plate.
• Don’t use it on damaged or broken skin, burns, cuts, wounds or skin infections.
• Stop if you feel any discomfort or unusual sensation. People with sensitive skin, allergies or skin conditions may react.
• Don’t use it at the same time as any other electrotherapy device.
• Keep it away from your eyes and don’t use it close to your heart.
• Don’t use it near baths, showers or water, or in very humid rooms.
• Thick calluses on the feet can reduce how well it works.

The handheld devices

OlyLife hasn’t published a separate manual for the Frost Age Beauty Device or the Revitaluxe Massager. The precautions above apply to the whole P90+ system. For the Revitaluxe, we also suggest these general precautions, which apply to red light and electrical pulse devices of this kind:

• Don’t shine the red light directly into your eyes, or anyone else’s. Close your eyes when you use it on your scalp or near your face.
• If you take medication that makes your skin sensitive to light, or have a light-sensitive skin condition, check with your doctor first.
• When using the EMS and TENS functions, keep the massager off the front of your neck and away from your chest.
• Stop if your skin becomes uncomfortably warm, red or irritated.

Care and maintenance

• Unplug it after every session and before cleaning.
• Wipe the plates with a clean cloth sprayed with a little silver colloid diluted in filtered water. Don’t use alcohol or other solvents.
• If any of the devices get wet, unplug and have it checked before using it again.
• In humid conditions or after long storage, let it warm up for 3 minutes before use.
• If you notice smoke or an unusual smell, unplug it and contact us.
• Don’t open it or try to repair it yourself. This also voids the warranty.

The Tera-P90+ is a wellness device. It isn’t intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you have a health condition, talk to your doctor before you start.
