Unless we say otherwise, every figure and safety rule here comes from the official Vitality Wand user manual. The manual describes the wand as a small home appliance. It isn’t intended to prevent, diagnose or treat any disease.

Independent terahertz testing
An independent Chinese laboratory has tested the terahertz and radiation wavelengths of the Vitality Wand. You can read the full test report (PDF).
Guangzhou Zhongsen Testing Technology completed the test in February 2024 (report ZSJC2024011803). It measured the wand’s output across six wavelength bands, from near-infrared through to terahertz:

The strongest reading was in the far-infrared band. The terahertz bands also showed clear output, peaking between 1,000 and 3,000 micrometres.

Using the Vitality Wand
Before you start
- Drink water. The manual suggests at least 500 to 1,000 ml of water (2-4 cups) before and after each session.
- Choose your clothing. The warm airflow works best directly on the skin. You can also wear light, loose clothing.
- Set up the stand. The wand comes with its own tripod. Follow the separate tripod instructions to assemble it.
- Check the wand. Make sure it’s in good condition and plugged into the right voltage.
During a session
- Hold the button for three seconds to turn the wand on.
- Tap the button to choose level 1, 2 or 3.
- Point the airflow at the area you’d like to focus on. Keep the outlet more than 20 cm from your skin.
- Pick the highest warmth that still feels comfortable. Turn it down if it feels too hot.
- After 45 minutes the wand switches itself off.
The manual shows six areas to focus on: the head and neck, shoulders, back, chest, waist and lower abdomen.
When you switch it off
The wand cools down for about 3 seconds, pauses for 2 seconds, then runs a short reverse-airflow cleaning cycle. It’s normal for it to restart briefly for this. Unplug it once it has finished.

Safety and precautions
Keep it away from water
Don’t use the wand near baths, showers, sinks or any container of water. Water nearby is a risk even when the wand is switched off. If you use it in a bathroom, unplug it straight after. For extra safety, the manual suggests a residual current device (RCD) rated at no more than 30 mA on the bathroom circuit. Ask your electrician about this.
Who should take extra care
- People with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities, or without experience of the device, should only use it with supervision or after proper instruction.
- Keep children from playing with it.
- If you’re pregnant, have a heat-sensitivity condition, or have any health concern, check with your doctor first.
While you use it
- Keep the air outlet more than 20 cm from your skin to avoid burns.
- Don’t use it in a humid room or with wet hands. Don’t splash water on it.
- Keep foreign objects out of the openings. If something falls in, turn it off and contact us.
- Unplug it and contact us if water gets on it, or if you notice a strange smell, smoke, unusual noise or damage to the cord or casing.
- Unplug it after every use.
- Don’t take it apart or use it for anything other than its intended purpose.
- A damaged power cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person.
Warranty and support
The Vitality Wand comes with OlyLife’s 24-month warranty. Keep the original box, as it’s the preferred way to send the wand for repair. The warranty doesn’t cover:
- unauthorised changes to the product
- a removed or altered serial number
- cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents or chips
- abuse, misuse, pests, accidents, fire, flood or other natural events
- parts, accessories, repairs or wiring not supplied or authorised by OlyLife
- incorrect voltage, power fluctuations or surges
- not following the operating and care instructions
